Perinatal and maternal data collection remains vital – Royal College of Midwives

19 July, 2011 (12:10) | Government policy, National Programmes, perinatal data | By: Helga Perry

Perinatal and maternal data collection remains vital – Royal College of Midwives.

The procurement process for the Maternal and Newborn Clinical Outcome Review was discontinued in March 2011.

CMACE used to handle the data collection, but this is currently being handled by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) and submissions should be made online via the MPMN website http://www.mpmn.nhs.uk/ or by courier to the NPSA – full details here.

An expert review panel chaired by Sheila Shribman is due to publish its final report on the Maternal and Newborn Clinical Outcome Review in a few weeks’ time.
